Medieval Meanderings: Day Two is Too Much!
Day 2 of our upcoming tour – Medieval Meanderings is the theme of the day.
Ranked one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, the medieval village of Eguisheim nestles into the heart of Alsatian wine country. It’s narrow, concentric streets wrap tightly around the central castle. We’ll visit the Emile Beyer winery there, followed by a gourmet lunch at an acclaimed local restaurant – also within a winery, of course!
Smack on the Alsatian Wine Route, Riquewihr is another stunning, medieval village surrounded by vines. With harvest in full-swing during our visit, we’re hoping to walk some of the “Grand Cru Wine Trails” – well-signed, educational footpaths connecting the villages of the wine route, and giving us an up-close look at harvest in progress – and epic views of the surrounding countryside. Should be beautiful in the cool, fall weather!
Added bonus: our amazing partner, Vines to Wine Academy, has arranged a visit to their family’s small winery, promising a unique and personal look at winemaking in Alsace. It’s just too much!
